New Moon in Taurus 2026: What this Full Moon Means for You
something we can hold onto
New Moon in Taurus 2026

The New Moon in Taurus on May 16th, 2026 enters with an air of certainty - helping us see that the seeds we’ve planted are sprouting and that our harvest is growing.
When I sat in meditation with this New Moon, here is what I received:
I saw a plant, growing upward from the sacral chakra — the center of our creativity, our desire, our creative life force - vining slowly, steadily upward. It was green and twisty and felt so alive.
And then came the feeling of happy excitement. Joy. A kind of delicious, tingling titillation — that dopamine hit of anticipation as you know something you have been waiting for is finally, unmistakably, on its way.
And then a knowing, clear and warm:
Something IS manifesting and becoming real. Something you can hold onto.
That is the gift of this Taurus New Moon.
After months of planting in the invisible — of dreaming and intending and trusting and sometimes wondering if any of it is actually working — this lunation brings things into form. Into the physical. Into something tangible, something we can see and touch and feel in our hands.
This New Moon is about vision made visible, the intangible made tangible, and dreams turned to reality.

The Energy of Taurus: Fixed Earth & the Magic of the Physical World
As the fixed Earth sign of the zodiac, Taurus is the energy of embodiment, patience, pleasure and the extraordinary magic of the material world.
Taurus understands something that the more fast-moving signs can sometimes miss: that the physical realm is not something separate from the spiritual. It is the spiritual — made manifest, made tangible, made real. The body is sacred. The Earth is sacred. The beauty of a flower, the taste of a meal, the warmth of the sun on your skin — these are not distractions from the spiritual path. Our presence here on Earth is a huge part of our spiritual path.
In her light, Taurus is patient, sensual, deeply creative and profoundly grounded. She knows how to tend. She knows how to nourish. She understands that the most magnificent things — the tallest trees, the most bountiful gardens, the most enduring creations — do not appear overnight. They are grown, slowly and steadily, with consistent care and deep roots.
Taurus is also beautifully attuned to her own worth and her own pleasure. She does not apologize for wanting beautiful things, for enjoying the richness of life, for taking her time. She is ruled by Venus — planet of love, beauty and abundance — and she wears that rulership with a quiet, grounded grace.
Yet in her shadow, Taurus can become so attached to what she has built — so invested in keeping things exactly as they are — that she resists the very change that would allow her to grow. She can become possessive of people, of situations, of old ways of doing things that no longer truly serve her. She can confuse comfort with happiness, and familiarity with alignment. She can dig in her heels so stubbornly that even obviously needed transformation feels threatening. (As a Taurus Moon I must state that I feel personally attacked by my own words!)
The shadow of Taurus is when security becomes a cage — when the very roots that were meant to nourish her become the thing that keeps her from expanding toward the light.
This New Moon holds both: the grounded, abundant, manifesting magic of Taurus at her most luminous — and the gentle invitation to remain open, flexible, and willing to let new forms emerge even when they look different from what we originally imagined.
The Astrology: Supermoon, Ceres, Mercury & Uranus
This Taurus new Moon actually arrives as a Supermoon which is when the Moon is at her closest point to the Earth. When the Moon is closer to the Earth, her gravitational pull, her Energy, is amplified. Our feelings are more felt. Our intentions carry more weight. The seeds we plant under a Supermoon are planted in especially fertile soil.
If there is ever a New Moon to be intentional, clear and genuinely present with your intentions — this is it.
Mercury (the planet of communication, technology, transportation and our thinking) in Taurus is conjunct (or appearing very close to) this New Moon, grounding our thoughts and our intentions in the practical and the sensory. In Taurus, Mercury is unhurried and thorough — he wants to understand things deeply, from the body up rather than the mind down. His presence here invites us to think about what we are building not just in theory but in real, embodied terms. What does this feel like? What does it look like in daily life? What are the actual, concrete steps?
And then there is Uranus (the planet of disruption, revolution, innovation and sudden change) newly settled into Gemini — hovering just beyond this lunation in a tight and activating conjunction. Uranus is the great awakener, the cosmic disruptor, the one who arrives precisely when we have gotten too comfortable and says: what if there is a different way?
His presence alongside this Taurus New Moon creates a beautiful and somewhat paradoxical energy: the deep, rooted, patient energy of Taurus meeting the electric, inventive, breakthrough energy of Uranus in Gemini.
Also conjunct this New Moon is Ceres — the dwarf planet of nourishment, the harvest, and the cycles of growth. Ceres in Taurus is deeply at home, and her presence here is no coincidence. She is the energy of the gardener, the keeper of seeds, the one who understands that what we tend to grows. Her conjunction with this Moon confirms what I felt in meditation: this is a lunation of tangible growth. Of things that were planted in the invisible finally pushing through the soil into the visible.
Together, they ask us to redefine what security and stability actually mean. Not as something fixed and unchanging — but as something alive, adaptive, and genuinely aligned with who we are becoming. They invite us to build new foundations — ones that can flex and grow with us rather than hold us in place.
And perhaps most excitingly: this combination is exceptional for solving a challenge by doing something different. For looking at something that has felt stuck or limited and being willing to approach it from a completely fresh angle. To think outside the container. To let Uranus spark the idea that Taurus then patiently, devotedly builds into something real.
Something We Can Hold On To: Manifestation Made Visible
Don’t minimize how much you have been planting.
Maybe you have been planting for a long time — in your prayers and your meditations, in your intentions and your visualizations, in the quiet moments when you dared to want something more and chose to believe it was possible. Maybe it has felt invisible for a while. Like nothing was happening. Like the seeds were just sitting in the dark, dormant and waiting.
But roots grow before shoots.
And this Taurus New Moon — amplified by her Supermoon closeness to the Earth, blessed by Ceres the great nurturer, and carrying the creative charge of Mercury and Uranus — is a lunation of emergence. Of things becoming visible. Of the first green tendril pushing through the soil and saying: I am here. I am real. It is happening.
Watch for it. Because it may not arrive in the exact form you imagined. Uranus in Gemini will make sure of that — he brings surprises, redirections, and breakthroughs that often look nothing like what we planned and everything like what we needed. The physical manifestation that arrives under this Moon might be unexpected in its form or its timing.
But it will be something you can hold on to. Something that shows you, concretely and tangibly, that your co-creating is working. That the unseen is becoming seen. That what you have been tending in the invisible is now finding its way into the world.
Receive it!
Conclusion: The Garden is Growing
This Taurus New Moon arrives in the lushness of mid-May, in the fullness of Taurus season, and she brings with her the scent of something blooming.
She is sensual and grounded and full of the kind of quiet, fertile magic that Taurus does better than anyone. She is backed by the nourishing presence of Ceres, the grounding clarity of Mercury, and the awakening spark of Uranus — all conspiring together to bring your intentions into form, your seeds into shoots, your invisible into something beautifully, tangibly real.
This is not a time for more waiting. It is a time for noticing. For receiving. For being present enough in your body and your senses to recognize the physical manifestations of your co-creating when they arrive — even if they look different from what you expected.
Open your hands. Soften your grip on how you thought it was supposed to look.
And get ready to hold something real.
The garden is growing. Something is on its way to you. Something you can feel and hold on to.
May this Taurus New Moon deliver to you some fruits born from the seeds of your desires, intentions and actions.
with infinite love and lunar blessings,
Rachael
