Full Moon In Taurus 2026: What this Full Moon Means for You

utterly ridiculous

Full moon in Taurus

This Full Moon in Taurus reminds us that our ability to find humor in the most ridiculous and absurd situations is actually a tremendous tool for healing and transformation (along with being a pretty healthy coping mechanism too!).

When I connected with the energy of this Full Moon, the first thing I felt was laughter.

And not polite “teeheeing” or chuckling and not fake laughter either. No the kind of laughter that bubbles up from somewhere deep and real — playful, teasing/flirty and maybe just a little uncontrollable. The kind of burst out laughing that arrives when something is just so absurd that it short-circuits your ability to stay serious about it for one more second.

And with that laughter also came relief. The relief that comes when you stop gripping something so tightly and finally just release your grip, let out a breath, a sigh and a laugh.

And then the words arrived for as the theme for this lunation: Utterly ridiculous.

This Taurus Full Moon is asking us to look around this beautiful and brutal world. To really look at this wild, contradictory, often genuinely baffling human experience we are all in together right now. Look at the heaviness and seriousness with which we carry our worries, our outrage, our carefully curated takes on everything. And then — just for a moment — notice how utterly, magnificently, cosmically ridiculous all of it is.

And not in some callous way to dismiss what is real and hard and genuinely worth our attention. But to find — in the absurdity of being human during these particularly interesting times — the specific relief and restoration that only laughter can bring.

The Energy of Taurus: Fixed Earth & the Art of Not Taking it Personally

As the fixed Earth sign of the zodiac, Taurus is the energy of groundedness, pleasure, beauty, persistence and the extraordinary, unshakeable steadiness of knowing exactly what you value and refusing to be moved from it. Taurus is well known for their bull-headed determination, aka stubbornness.

In their light, Taurus is sensual, patient, deeply nourishing and magnificently present. They are not interested in drama or urgency, because Taurus knows that the most meaningful things are built slowly, tended lovingly and savored fully. Taurus finds pleasure in the tangible, physical world — good food, beautiful surroundings, the feeling of bare feet on grass and the satisfaction of something genuinely well-made. A lit up Taurus is content, grounded and present.

Yet in their shadow, Taurus can become so attached to comfort and security that they cling to what is familiar long past its usefulness. Taurus can dig their heels in so stubbornly that even obviously needed change feels threatening. They can accumulate — things, patterns, relationships, beliefs — and mistake the familiar for the nourishing. (and yes I do feel personally called in as a Taurus Moon.)

The shadow of Taurus is when comfort becomes avoidance — when staying put is really just refusing to feel what a little more honesty might reveal.

This Full Moon — sitting in Taurus while Scorpio season is in its deep, truth-seeking descent — is asking us to be honest with ourselves. And the humor that this particular lunation also offers provides a warm, soft and safe landing for the truth that honesty reveals.

The Astrology: A Fixed T-Square, Venus & Mercury Retrograde

So we’ve got some intense astrology (again!) which definitely plays into the "utterly ridiculous” theme of this Taurus Full Moon.

The main feature is a T-square between the Full Moon in Taurus and the opposing Sun in Scorpio with Pluto in Aquarius. This configuration holds a lot of pressure, as three powerful fixed signs standoff, each one stubborn in their own way and each one asking you to reflect on something fundamental.

The Moon in Taurus asks: what do I actually need to feel secure? The Sun in Scorpio asks: what am I holding onto that is costing me? Pluto in Aquarius asks: who is really in charge here — and is it actually you?

This T-square can feel heavy and like a ton of pressure. And maybe, just maybe, that is exactly where the lunar theme of utterly ridiculous comes in. Because sometimes the most revolutionary thing we can do with an impossible-feeling pressure is look at it, laugh at the sheer absurdity of the whole situation and refuse to let it own us entirely.

Venus — the ruler of both Taurus and this Full Moon — is still retrograde, having just moved back from Scorpio into Libra on this very day. She is sitting close to the Sun after her cazimi on October 23rd — clarified and renewed, but still reflective, still asking us to revisit what we truly value and why.

And Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 24th — the day before this Full Moon. Along with Venus and Mercury, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune and Chiron are also retrograde at the moment making this full Moon ripe with retrograde energy. More inward turning. More are you sure about that? energy in the air. And also more opportunities for ridiculous things to ensue.

Utterly Ridiculous: Finding the Humor in Being Human

Sometimes it can feel utterly ridiculous to be living in this current reality.

And I’ve realized recognizing the ridiculousness of it all can be a helpful practice for moving out of despair. In the most honest, clear-eyed, cosmic-perspective kind of way. We are tiny conscious beings on a spinning rock in an infinite universe, trying to figure out to feed ourselves daily and pay bills, while also processing collective trauma, navigating our own personal healing journeys and keeping up with approximately forty-seven different things that always feel urgent!

And we are doing it with such earnestness, dedication and also wholehearted, sometimes white-knuckled, seriousness.

Which is — when you step back far enough to actually see it — completely, magnificently, utterly ridiculous.

And this Full Moon wants us to find that funny.

Not to bypass what is real. Not to laugh away the things that genuinely deserve our attention and care. But to recognize that the ability to find humor — real, genuine, body-shaking humor — in the absurdity of the human condition is one of the most powerful forms of liberation available to us.

Especially now. Especially with Pluto pressing and Scorpio season stripping everything down to its rawest form and Venus asking us to look honestly at what we actually value. Sometimes the most honest thing we can do is laugh.

Taurus, for all their grounded-ness and practicality, actually understands this. Taurus knows that genuine pleasure, genuine levity and the ability to not take ourselves quite so seriously are not luxuries, but are necessary medicine. They are what makes the brutality of this human experience bearable, and often even beautiful.

Let it Be Ridiculous

The Taurus full Moon encourages us to look at what is true and what it honest to both accept and also sometimes even mock too!

This Taurus Full Moon reminds us that it’s ok, in fact it’s even encouraged for us to just laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

That laughter is not irresponsible and that levity does not have to be avoidance. That the ability to look at the whole magnificent, complicated, sometimes genuinely baffling situation of being human right now and say — with genuine affection and not a little amusement — this is utterly ridiculous — is one of the most grounded, most Taurus, most truly present things we can do.

Let the pressure be what it is. Let the wounds be seen. Let the grip loosen. And let yourself loose to laugh at it all - at the sheer, gorgeous utterly ridiculous gift of being alive during these transformative times.

with infinite love and lunar blessings,

Rachael
