This New Moon in Libra invites us to take bigger and bolder aligned actions with greater confidence that we are spiritually supported.
When I connected with the energy of this New Moon, I felt it in my feet first - a tingling, gentle, buzzing aliveness moving up through my calves. And then — an interesting image and sensation arrived: a moving walkway at the airport. You step onto it and suddenly you are moving faster, with far greater ease, carried forward by something beneath you that accelerates your effort.
That is the energy of this Libra New Moon.
And then — a clearing in my sinuses and third eye. A sense of things becoming suddenly, quietly clearer. Like a fog lifting just enough to see what has been there all along.
The message I received for this Libre new Moon felt motivating and soothing at the same time, encouraging us to keep going with faith that we are being supported with momentum, that the Universe IS carrying us forward.
It's go time.
Not the frantic, white-knuckled, make-it-happen kind of go time. The “I’ve been waiting and preparing for this” kind and the supported, aligned, carried-by-something-larger kind. The kind where you feel ready and eager to step onto the walkway and trust the momentum beneath you.

The Energy of Libra: Cardinal Air & the Power of Aligned Action
As the cardinal Air sign of the zodiac, Libra is the energy of mental initiation, harmony, balance, relationship and the extraordinary mental clarity of a being who can see all sides of a situation and choose wisely from that place.
In her light, Libra is graceful, discerning, genuinely fair-minded and gifted at creating beauty and harmony from complexity. She sees clearly. She weighs and discerns thoughtfully. She understands that the most powerful actions are not the most forceful ones — they are the most aligned ones. Libra initiates not from ego or urgency but from a deep sense of what is equitable , what is fair and what is genuinely beautiful.
Yet in her shadow, Libra can become so focused on weighing all sides that she tips into indecision — endlessly considering, endlessly balancing, never quite committing to her own direction. She can people-please her way out of her own truth, prioritizing harmony with others over honesty with herself. She can use the desire for balance to avoid the discomfort of actually choosing.
The shadow of Libra is paralysis dressed up as patience (also known as analysis paralysis) — the endless deferral of action in the name of finding the perfect moment.
This New Moon is done with waiting for perfect. It's go time — and Libra at her most powerful knows exactly how to move: with clarity, with grace, with the kind of aligned decisiveness that comes not from force but from genuine inner knowing.
The Astrology: Venus & Jupiter influence
I think it’s important that we take a little time to discuss Venus retrograde since that’s a big energy in both this new Moon and the Taurus Full Moon coming later in October.
Venus stationed retrograde in Scorpio on October 3rd — just one week before this New Moon, and will remain retrograde through November 13/14th, 2026. Venus is the ruling planet of Libra, which means she is the planet most intimately connected to this lunation's energy. And when the ruler of a New Moon is retrograde, the invitation is not to rush blindly forward, rather to go forward wisely.
Venus retrograde in Scorpio is asking us to go deeper before we go further by revisiting what we truly value. To look honestly at the relationships, the creative paths and the desires we are about to invest our energy in — and make sure they are genuinely ours. She is not a stop sign. She is a compass calibration. Get clear on what you actually want, and then — go.
On the very same day as this New Moon, Venus retrograde squares Mars in Leo — creating a charged, creative, slightly electric tension between what we desire (Venus) and how we pursue/act upon those desires (Mars). This square is not comfortable but it is generative because it can help us realize how we may be acting in ways that deny, repress or push away or authentic desires. The energy of this transit feels a bit like we are pushing equally on the gas and the brake simultaneously, causing us to move forward with a good amount of friction.
Yet the powerful message of “it’s go time” coming with this Libra full Moon will help us slowly begin to ease our foot off the brake, and allowing us to feel as though we are able to move forward more smoothly and with less friction.
And then — beautifully — the New Moon forms a supportive sextile to Jupiter in Leo. Jupiter is expansion, confidence, optimism and the generous amplification of whatever he touches. In Leo he is radiant and bold. His harmonious sextile to this New Moon is the cosmic confirmation of what I felt in meditation: you are supported. The momentum is real. Step onto the walkway.
The Universe is inviting us forward to co-create with a greater sense and knowing that we are spiritually supported in our actions.
It's Go Time: Clarity, Not Force
This Libra New Moon wants you to understand the phrase “It’s go time” a little differently than our hustle culture demands of us.
Because this type of momentum is not about pushing, about forcing, or about hustling harder or willing things into existence through sheer effort.
Instead this Libra New Moon wants to remind us of alignment and timing. That momentum can be all about moving with the energy at play so as to not exhaust yourself with constant effort. And for this Libra new Moon specifically, taking actions with momentum is about stepping onto that moving walkway of co-creation. It is about trusting divine timing and learning how to move with what is flowing.
Because right now, the momentum is there. The support is already there. The clarity — that beautiful clearing in the third eye, that tingling aliveness in the feet and calves — is (finally!) arriving. What this New Moon is asking you to do is simply step in. To trust the movement beneath you. To let yourself be carried forward by something larger than your own effort.
Venus retrograde in Scorpio reminds us to go deep before we go wide — to make sure we are moving toward what we genuinely desire, not what we think we should want or what looks good from the outside. Take a moment under this New Moon to get honest. What do you actually want? What has been asking to be set in motion that you have been holding back?
And then — let it go. Plant the seed. Set the intention. Take the first step.
Because the Earth is moving beneath your feet right now — and it is carrying you exactly where you need to go.
Step onto the Walkway
Yet again the Moon is asking us to trust.
Specifically, this Libra New Moon is asking you to trust the support beneath you — the Earthly and Universal momentum that is already in motion — and to step forward with the graceful, aligned, decisive energy of Libra at her most powerful.
May this Libra New Moon ease your efforts as she launches you even more fully into your alignment.
with infinite love and lunar blessings,
Rachael
