Cancer new moon

Hi friends,

I think we need a new word to describe the intensity of the year thus far (and especially the energy of that last Sagittarius Full Moon).

And while I wish I could say that the nurturing new Moon in Cancer, happening on June 25th, offers us a nice reprieve from all the intensity, unfortunately I cannot.

But what I can say, is that this Cancer New Moon may offer us something even more necessary for these intense times we find ourselves in, and that is meaning and the miracle of a new perspective.

There’s something sweet and expansive about this New Moon in Cancer. This lunation carries on from the Sagittarius full Moon, encouraging us to keep our heart-open and caring of others, especially in the face of the cruelty and violence we see around us.

This lunation is full of heart-felt desires, inviting and encouraging us to see things differently—from a higher perspective that includes not just logic, but intuition, compassion, and a deep trust in what’s unfolding.

We’re not just setting intentions this New Moon—we’re reaching for that higher view and we’re widening our lens so that we can better see what’s truly going on around us, and better understand the meaning of this time.

Cancer Energy: Intuition is the higher perspective

As the cardinal Water sign, Cancer is an initiatory energy that is beautifully tender and fiercely protective. Highly intuitive, compassionate and caring, Cancer is known as the Mother archetype of the Zodiac, with equal parts nurturing love and protective ferocity.

Ruled by the Moon, Cancer energy is also known for her emotional intensity and volatility. With the Moon governing our emotions, intuition and subconscious selves, Cancer energy often has us straddling our physical reality with our more emotional and spiritual one.

Intuitive, caring, loyal, compassionate, cozy, creative and oh so nurturing, Cancer energy loves to amplify love to those all around her. Yet one of her lessons is to nurture herself with the love and generosity she so willingly shares with others.

On the shadow side. Cancer energy can become possessive, take things way too personally, and can get thrown out of alignment due to tribalism and nationalism (which comes from the desire to protect their own when things gets scary).

Represented by the crab, Cancer energy is both soft and tough. While she might pinch when feeling attacked, she doesn’t push—instead Cancer nurtures.

She softens.

She makes space.

She leads with heart.

This is energy that cares, protects, senses, remembers. Cancer wants to hold and be held, and for connection to feel safe, real, and honest.

This New Moon invites us to work with Cancer’s most powerful qualities—intuition, care, and emotional intelligence—to access a more aligned and elevated perspective on life.

When we’re stuck in fear or confusion, what helps us shift?

Not logic. Not hustle. Not forcing.

It’s usually something that softens us. A moment of compassion. A deep breath. A feeling of being held—by another person, by Nature, by something greater.

That’s Cancer energy. It reminds us that our highest perspective isn’t necessarily the most intellectual—it’s the one that’s most connected to the heart.

Cancer knows how to zoom in and tend to the tender parts. And Cancer energy also knows how to zoom out, to feel for the threads of interconnection and meaning that exist between us all.

This Cancer New Moon brings an invitation to lean into those gifts. It’s asking us to soften, to feel, to be present with what’s real—and through that, to open to the miracle of seeing & feeling things differently.

Because sometimes a fresh perspective doesn’t just shift our mood—it changes our entire direction. Sometimes clarity doesn’t come from figuring something out, but from allowing in a new understanding.

Cancer energy helps us do that. It helps us turn inward, not to get lost in the emotion, but to find the meaning inside it. When we give ourselves permission to be honest about how we feel—without judgment—we often receive insight that couldn’t come any other way.

And that’s where the miracles live. In the shift. In the softening. In the moment when something clicks and we finally see through a different lens.

This New Moon is reminding us that intuition is our higher perspective. And it’s always rooted in trust, compassion, and emotional honesty.

This New Moon invites us to:

  • Trust our emotional clarity, even if it’s subtle

  • Let compassion reshape how we see ourselves and others

  • Be open to a shift in perception that brings in new meaning

This isn’t about forcing clarity—it’s about being available to receive it.

Because when we create emotional safety and space within ourselves, to have the capacity to pause and ask, “Is there another way to look at this?”—that’s when something new can come in. That’s when insight lands. That’s when we connect with our Higher Self and start to see not just differently, but more truthfully.

The Astrology: A Big Dose of Feeling Meets a Higher Vision

On June 25, both the Sun and Moon are in Cancer (hence the new Moon) —and they’re sitting right next to Jupiter, also in Cancer. Jupiter expands whatever he touches, and in this case, he’s amplifying our emotional world, our desire for deep connection, trustworthy safety and our capacity for healing and interconnection.

This can feel big. It can feel optimistic, even dreamy. There’s a sense that we’re reaching toward something more meaningful, more true and ultimately more us.

At the same time, this New Moon is also square Saturn and Neptune, both in Aries, the planet of action, aggression and war, and where neither planet are happy being. Obviously tension may ensue.

  • Saturn asks us to be real about what’s working and what’s not. It brings in responsibility, boundaries, and the courage to grow through discomfort.

  • Neptune brings in longing, soulfulness, and inspiration—but also the potential for confusion. It can blur the lines between what’s real and what’s imagined.

This combo might stir up mixed feelings: hope and hesitation. Vision and doubt. You might feel a little foggy about what your next steps are—or unsure whether you're seeing something clearly or just wishfully.

But all of this is here to help us grow. The key is not to figure it all out right now—but just to stay open to a new perspective. One that’s emotionally honest and soul-aligned.

New Moon Invitations

This New Moon is also such a beautiful time to check in with your real dreams—the ones that live in your heart, not the ones you think you should have by now. And definitely, the ones that feel just a little too big or tender to name out loud.

If you’re willing to open up to a new way of seeing, this Moon can bring real clarity—not just about what you want, but about why it matters.

Let yourself be surprised. You don’t have to force anything. Just ask:

  • What if there’s a higher, wiser, kinder way to look at this?

  • What if a shift in perspective is what brings the clarity I’ve been craving?

  • What if everything I need is already here—and I just need to see it from a new angle?

miracle of a new perspective

Your clarity is coming—not through pushing, but through softening.
Not through control, but through trust.

Let your heart lead. Let your perspective shift.
And let the miracles find you when you’re ready to receive them.

May this New Moon be a reminder: you don’t need all the answers right now. You just need to stay open to a new way of seeing, and the meaning will come.

with infinite love and appreciation,

Rachael

This New Moon in Cancer is conjunct Jupiter, bringing emotional expansion, optimism, and a powerful opening for new beginnings. It can deepen your capacity to give and receive care while also expanding your perspective on what home, safety, and belonging truly mean.

Emotions may feel amplified, but so does the potential for growth.

A supportive sextile to Mars in Virgo offers grounded motivation to take action, especially through thoughtful planning, organization, and small acts of service.

Meanwhile, a loose square to Neptune and Saturn may stir emotional overwhelm or blurred boundaries, highlighting where responsibility or spiritual pressure has been draining your energy.

Let this Moon be a reminder to include yourself in the care you so often give to others.
