Hey there friends,
Not unlike the Aquarius Full Moon that recently past, this Virgo New Moon has a little twist to it.
Usually, new Moons are about fresh starts and setting intentions. But this one? It’s asking us to begin by letting go — specifically, letting go of control.
Because it’s only when we release our tight grip on control, that we can lean fully into trust: trust in ourselves, trust in others, trust in Earth and trust in the larger unfolding of the Universe.
And trust is what this Virgo New Moon is all about.
And I know it may sound completely irrational to share that we are being called to trust even more during these very untrustworthy times. Yet it is exactly because these times feel so uncertain, that we are being called to lean deeper into our trust in order to return to our own personal power, peace and purpose.
The Virgo New Moon reminds us that growth isn’t always about doing more — sometimes it’s about loosening our grip and letting go. The invitation of this New Moon is simple, yet profound: “Grow your trust, trust your growth.”
This is not about perfecting ourselves or controlling every step of the journey. It’s about remembering that we are already growing, already becoming, already unfolding into who we’re meant to be. And when we trust both ourselves and the Universe, the path ahead becomes lighter, more open, and full of possibilities.
Also loosening our tight and rigid grip on perceived control is an extremely helpful way for us to move into softening, surrendering and going with the flow for Eclipse season, which is now upon us with this lunation as well.

The mutable Earth sign, Virgo is all about refinement, organization, discernment, and service.
When shining their light, Virgo energy is practical, dedicated, and deeply caring — thriving when she can help create order, meaning and beauty from chaos.
Virgo sees the small steps that make big dreams possible, and fully understands that devotion to the process, and to our practice, is sacred in itself.
Yet Virgo’s shadow can appear when her desire for improvement turns into perfectionism and/or self-criticism. The urge to “get it just right” becomes a barrier to trusting the true messiness of growth.
Control often feels safer than surrender.
And yet… it’s in surrender that our truest growth takes both root and flight.
Which is why this Virgo New Moon is asking us to first release our false sense of control, in order to help us manifest and embody more authentic trust within us.
This New Moon asks us:
Where have I been trying to manage every detail out of fear, rather than trusting my life?
If I trusted the Universe and myself completely, what would surrendering control make possible for me now?
And by enhancing and strengthening our inner “trust muscle” this Virgo New Moon also prepares us energetically for the uncontrollable changes still coming our way.
Astrological Influences: Change is inevitable
So don’t be surprised if this Virgo New Moon brings in a few surprises, and that’s thanks to Uranus, the planet of sudden and surprising change.
The Virgo New Moon is in a tense, clashing aspect with Uranus — the planet of sudden, unexpected change and chaos. It’s safe to say that Virgo and Uranus energies don’t get along too great.
Virgo wants order, organization, and to do things the “right way”, while Uranus wants to disrupt the status quo and do whatever the F he wants.
So this clash will likely have us feeling how difficult it may feel to find order in all of this chaos. Yet going back to the theme of trusting your growth and growing your trust, what if we trusted that the jarring energy of this transit (and this whole year to be honest!) is shaking loose what’s grown stale, pushing us out of our comfort zones and inviting us into cataclysmic change we could never have planned.
Just like all transits, that energy will pass and thankfully, just after the New Moon, the Moon makes a harmonious aspect with Jupiter, planet of expansion and luck. This softens the edges of Uranus’ disruption, bringing opportunities for growth, blessings in disguise, or even a stroke of good luck.
And I think we could all us that good luck and expansive energy as we head into Eclipse season with this lunation as well.
I’ve spoken a lot about Eclipse season here within the Moonblog, so just to be super short and sweet, here are some important things to remember about the energy of eclipse season:
This is not the best time to actively manifest or try to force or make things happen. Instead, Eclipse season is a great time to rest, reflect and go with the flow.
Not a great time to charge your crystals, make Moon water or do intentional Moon related magic, as the energies of Eclipse season are potent yet chaotic.
The more we surrender into what is, and allow ourselves to flow with what’s happening in our lives, the more likely we are to receive two of the most beautiful gifts of Eclipse season - moments of meaningful new perceptions and destined change.
New Moon intentions: Surrender to trust
Even though this lunation is a new Moon, the energy feels much like a Full Moon — ripe for release. (Which is interesting because the last full Moon in Aquarius felt a lot like a new Moon!) Yet this release is deeply intentional…
The Virgo new Moon urges us to let go of our false sense of control, to shed the illusion that we can (or must) manage every variable. Yet, this release is not about resignation; it’s about surrendering in a way that allows trust to bloom.
The Virgo new Moon reminds us that when we release control, we make space for trust — trust in the unknown, trust in our inner wisdom, trust in our timing, and trust in the mysterious and beautiful ways the Universe works.
The Moon is whispering to us now “just because things are not going the way you wanted or expected, doesn’t mean things aren’t working out for you. Trust your life, trust your challenges, trust your growth, trust yourself”.
And I know that personally I am hearing this Moon loud and clear which is why I will be taking a step back from these Moonblogs throughout the next month (September) and maybe a little longer. I have been getting the message for a while now to “do less” and “rest more” as I’ve also been experiencing symptoms of professional burnout.
So I am trusting these messages, trusting my own needs and trusting the community we’ve already built here. I am not clear yet when I’ll be back or how the Moonblogs will look upon my return, but I’m also trusting clarity will come when I take the time I need to rest, restore and replenish.

May this Virgo New Moon remind you to set down the weight of control, inhale trust with every breath, and exhale into the truth that your growth is already happening.
