New Moon in Pisces 2026: what this lunation means for you

It’s not what you think…

New moon in Pisces 2026

6:23 pm (pst)

The Pisces New Moon arrives on March 18th, 2026, encouraging us to open our minds to new understandings especially in regards to our intuitive connections.

The theme of “it’s not what you think” holds a double meaning both of which relate well to our connection to our intuitive muscles/skills.

First and foremost, intuition is not what we think.

Our intuition does not reside in the rational, analytical mind. In many ways, our intuition is the opposite of the analytical mind and it’s needs for logic, proof and strategy. Instead, our intuition flows through our body, our mind and our presence. Intuition communicates through sensations, images, emotions and subtle inner shifts, along with immediate understandings.

And the only way to listen to these intuitive connections, is not through over-analyzing everything you receive, but rather to stop thinking and just feel! So please know that there is and should always be a difference between what you think, and what you intuit (connect with and receive intuitively).

Second, our intuition may already be communicating with us in deeply creative ways — but we are missing it because it isn’t showing up how we expected. We may not see rainbow auric layers, or spinning chakras with our eyes open. Our connection may not feel dramatic, or may not come in with clarity. Often messages we receive do not confirm what we want.

Intuition often comes in softly, symbolically and through felt sensations and emotions in our bodies, that are easy to ignore if we are only listening with the thinking mind.

And this Pisces New Moon asks us to relearn how to listen.

Because the truth is, your intuition IS already guiding you, but it just might not be showing up the way you think it should.

The Energy of Pisces: Mutable Water & the Mystery of Feeling

As the mutable Water sign of the zodiac, Pisces is known for her fluidity, openness and sensitivity.

In her light, Pisces is compassionate, imaginative, spiritually attuned, and deeply connected to the unseen.

She reminds us that we are more than our roles and responsibilities. That there is a current moving beneath the surface of our lives, interconnecting us all. That surrender can be strength and that intuition is a major form of intelligence.

Pisces trusts what she feels even when she cannot explain it.

She understands symbolism, speaks the language of dreams and recognizes that truth does not always arrive in straight lines. Especially in this day and age of constant noise and propaganda.

Yet on the shadow side, or when feeling ungrounded, Pisces energy can drift into confusion, escapism, avoidance, or projection.

She can romanticize situations that need structure, or can confuse wishful thinking with intuition. And unfortunately she can dissolve boundaries that were actually protecting our well-being.

Which is why embodiment matters.

True intuition does not disconnect you from your body or your reality. It roots you more deeply into it.

The Astrology: A Pile-Up in Pisces and Aries

As always, this lunation does not exist in isolation, and this time around there is a strong concentration of energy in both Pisces and Aries, creating a powerful dynamic between surrender and initiation.

The Sun and Moon meet in Pisces, marking the New Moon. Alongside them are Mars and Mercury, also traveling through Pisces. This creates a deeply intuitive, emotionally sensitive vibe. Our thoughts may feel more fluid. Our actions less linear. Our motivation more internally guided than externally driven.

Pisces is mutable Water. Flowing, feeling and receiving.

At the same time, there is a powerful cluster of planets in Aries. Saturn, Neptune, and Venus are all in Aries during this lunation, amplifying themes of accountability, vision and values.

Aries is cardinal Fire. Direct, instinctual and forward-moving.

So we are standing between water and fire.

Pisces asks us to feel.
Aries asks us to use that emotion as fuel for our fire and move with it.

Pisces is also the last sign of the Zodiac, while Aries is the first. Pisces ends and Aries begins, mirroring to us the endings and beginnings we are witnessing around us.

why our intuitive connection matters now

The message of this Pisces New Moon is simple, but not simplistic.

It’s not what you think.

And right now, that message feels especially relevant.

We are living in a moment where information moves faster than integration. Where narratives are crafted quickly and fed to us continuously.

Where war fills our feeds and enters our nervous systems before we have had time to metabolize what we are seeing. Yet most of us are not truly witnessing the events — we are witnessing interpretations of events, shaped and framed in ways that often turn us against one another.

It is easy, in times like these, for our thoughts to harden, for our opinions to become our identities and for our certainty to be used as armor against listening to others.

But Pisces invites something different.

Pisces reminds us that not everything is as it first appears. That truth is often layered. That the loudest voice is not usually the wisest, or truest, one. This New Moon also asks us to slow down enough to notice how information feels in the body. To sense when we are being activated or pulled into polarity. To question what is being amplified and what is being left unsaid.

It’s not what you think.

That does not mean abandoning our values. It does not mean bypassing injustice or pretending harm is not real. It means holding our values deeply while remaining open to wider perspective. It means making sure we are actually connecting with our values and not some perceived narrative. It means holding two truths at the same time. It means thinking critically, not tribally. It means choosing discernment over reaction. It means allowing intuition — not fear — to guide how we engage.

Pisces teaches compassionate awareness. Aries, strong in the background right now, reminds us that identity and conviction matter. The invitation is to root ourselves in what we know to be true at a soul level, while also recognizing that the full picture is often more complex than any single narrative.

And our intuition helps us navigate this.

Our intuition can help us sense when something is manipulative. It can help us feel when we are being pulled into division. It can help us return to our body, to our breath, and to our shared humanity.

This Pisces New Moon is a recalibration.

Not away from the world, but deeper into wise participation within it.

It’s not what you think.

It’s what you feel when you get quiet enough to listen beyond the noise.

And that quiet, embodied knowing may be one of the most important guides we all have right now.

Conclusion: Listening Differently

This Pisces New Moon is not about dramatic declarations. It is about recalibrating our relationship to our own inner guidance.

It’s about recognizing that intuition may not look the way we thought it would.

It may not be loud.
It may not be convenient.
It may not confirm your current plans.

But it is present.

There is wisdom in your dreams. In your subtle body responses. In the quiet resistance that rises without explanation. In the repeated symbol that keeps appearing. In the exhaustion that signals misalignment. In the unexpected pull toward something that makes no logical sense.

It’s not what you think.

And that’s precisely why it needs your attention.

Let this New Moon be a reset. A softening. A willingness to listen beneath the noise of the rational mind. The more you practice noticing the body-led signals now, the more clearly you will move when the fire of Aries calls you forward.

May this Pisces New Moon nourish your intuitive connections, guiding you into more deeply embodied knowing, while quieting the ramblings of your thoughts.

with infinite love and lunar blessings,

Rachael
