Hey there friends,
If you've been feeling nostalgic regarding past versions of yourself lately, congratulations, you are totally feeling the energies of the Libra New Moon.
Arriving early in the morning on October 21st, this new Moon brings in a gentle yet potent invitation to begin again—this time, with tons more kindness, both for others, but most especially for ourselves.
Libra, the sign of balance, beauty, and relationship, reminds us that harmony starts within. Under this lunation, our new beginnings invite us to soften our inner dialogue, to reparent ourselves with compassion, and to become the loving voice our younger self always needed to hear.
Through the language of caring thoughts, words and actions, this New Moon opens a doorway to deeper self-understanding, self-worth and self-love. And as we walk through this doorway, we are reminded that kindness is a form of power expressed as love.

libra’s relational love
As the cardinal Air sign, Libra energy is known for being justice and equity-minded, considerate and thoughtful. Ruled by Venus, Libra loves beauty, values and relationships, and as such carries both the blessings and the burdens of connection.
When shining their light, Libra is the peacemaker—the sculptor of relationship who sees the beauty in balance, the art in understanding, and the grace in compromise.
Libra teaches us that love is not found in perfection, but in presence.
When in their shadow, Libra can over-give and fawn in desire for harmony—prioritizing others’ comfort at the expense of their own truth, silencing their authentic self to avoid disapproval or conflict.
You may notice memories rising to the surface around this new Moon, memories that tug at your relationship wounds, both romantic and platonic. Yet the invitation here is to not self-abandon when/if those memories surface, but instead to cultivate and maintain an energy of self-acceptance and self-love. And the way we do this, is through the message I intuited as the theme for this Libra New Moon, which is remembering yourself kindly. And by this I mean being a loving narrator of your own life experience, even when reflecting back on things you regret, or mistakes you know you made.
When we remember ourselves kindly, we stop seeking balance through external validation and start sourcing it from within.
When we remember ourselves kindly we also become the welcoming and safe space the younger versions of us needed.
Some Astrology
There are a a lot of planets activated under this Libra New Moon, many of which also weave together the theme of remembering, rebalancing, and reparenting.
This new Moon forms an opposition to Chiron (“the wounded warrior”) who is currently retrograde in Aries. This transit shines a light on old wounds around our identity, times when we felt unseen, unheard, or unworthy of love. This tense opposition brings awareness of how these older wounds continue to impact our relationships and choices.
Chiron always reminds us that our deepest wounds also carry our great medicines. But it’s only when we allow ourselves to feel and embrace our deepest pains that we are able to access the treasures that reside within them.
Meanwhile this Libra new Moon is also forming a square with Jupiter (the planet of expansion, amplification and luck) who is still cruising in Cancer. This transit amplifies our emotional landscape. Memories of childhood and family dynamics may surface, inviting reflection on how we learned to care, communicate, and cope. Jupiter expands everything it touches—our longing, our tenderness, and our capacity to nurture ourselves anew.
This lunation is also forming a square with Pluto (the planet of death, rebirth, transformation and hidden truths) who is currently retrograde in Aquarius. This transit digs deep into our patterns of relating. It reveals the ways we’ve internalized collective wounds or inherited beliefs about love, worth, and belonging. Pluto here is not about punishment—it’s about truth. When we see how the past has shaped our self-talk, we gain the power to change the script.
Together, these alignments make this New Moon a time for rewriting our inner story. To manifest not just new beginnings in relationships, but new ways of relating to ourselves—with empathy, maturity, and grace.
This Libra New Moon doesn’t just highlight our relationship with ourselves—it also reflects how we relate to others. The way we speak inwardly often becomes the way we speak outwardly. When our inner world is harsh, our outer world mirrors that pain.
This lunation gently reminds us that most people who act out or cause hurt are responding from their own unhealed inner child. When we remember that, compassion becomes possible. We learn to see the scared or striving little one inside others—and to respond from the loving adult inside ourselves.
This is how healing ripples outward: through kind communication, through choosing to understand rather than react, and through remembering that empathy is never wasted energy—it’s a form of mastery.
The invitation of this New Moon is to reparent ourselves into the adults the youngers versions of ourselves needed us to be. Someone who communicates with kindness—both inwardly and outwardly. This is about transforming the inner critic into a gentler narrator.
Instead of thinking, “I should have known better,” try, “I understand why I made that choice then—and I’m learning.”
Instead of, “I’m too much,” whisper, “I am more than enough and allowed to take up space.”
This is how we manifest a kinder inner voice: through consistent, compassionate self-talk that honors both who we’ve been and who we are becoming.
And to be truly honest, I feel personally called out by this Libra new Moon, as I am actively engaged in learning to alchemize my inner voice into something more compassionate and kind. I know in my own personal experience, learning to love oneself with unconditional depth is a lifetime’s worth of study.
Thankfully this new Moon offers us a beautiful opportunity to lean into and learn more about our self love, through remembering our personal journeys with kindness, understanding and acceptance.
May this New Moon remind you to speak softly to the self within.
May you become the love you once longed for.
May you see the child inside you not as something to fix,
but as someone to hold.
And may every word you whisper to yourself
plant seeds of peace that grow for lifetimes to come.
with infinite love and lunar blessings,
Rachael
working with the libra new moon: A ritual
Step 1: Write a Love Letter to Your Inner Child:
Find a quiet space where you can be still. Light a candle if you wish, or place your hand over your heart. Begin writing a love letter to younger versions of yourself—go back as far as you can remember. Speak to them with tenderness. Tell them what you now know: that they were always enough, always worthy, always loved. Acknowledge their courage, their curiosity, their light.
Step 2: Read It Aloud and Let It Land
When your letter feels complete, read it out loud to the younger you within. Speak the words slowly, letting them sink into your body. Feel what it’s like to receive your own love. If emotion arises, let it. This is the sound of healing—the vibration of self-compassion finding its home.
Step 3: Write a Letter from Your Younger Self to Your Current Self
Now, set your pen to paper once more. This time, write a love letter from your younger self to your current self. Let their voice flow through you. Allow them to tell you what they see and admire about the person you’ve become. Let them remind you that you are the adult they once dreamed of—the one who made it through, who kept going, who is still learning to love.
When you finish, close your ritual by whispering to yourself:
I remember myself kindly. I love who I’ve been, and who I am still becoming.
